"FLYBOY" grew up in Cumberland County and joined the Air Force in 1992. Following his active duty term, Flyboy attended WKU and graduated in 2005. Flyboy was a nickname given to Michael due to his service in the Air Force, he began playing softball in 1992 following his baseball career at Cumberland County High School. During his military softball career, he began designing his squadrons athletic team apparel, while finding vendors to produce his visions.
In 1996, Michael started the venture of founding Flyboy Athletics while playing softball with B&C/Miken, Hub City Glass and Dizzy Roosters.

He began making uniforms for his teams. Without God's blessing and support from all the loyal teams, Flyboy Athletics would not be possible.
